This city has everything: the hustle-bustle of the city is just mesmerizing where locals, tourists, pets and motorbikes live in one big community and the food is super nice too. The latest collections of all goods and brands to be had here for fraction of the original price. We mainly stayed in the Hoan Kiem District / Old Quarter area, with it’s tiny labyrinth streets packed with sellers and buyers, bikes and people sitting on tiny chairs taking in the insane ruch of people all day long.
The first morning, before heading out to Halong Bay, we were first to queue for Bun Rieu Cua, a crab noodle soup with beef (we were first in line, regardless some 20 people rushing to work finished their bowl before us) :) Altogether we tried like 6-7 different meals unique to Hanoi and barely scratched the surface. We reunited with Peti here and I also met My, who went to the same college as me. :) Small world, huh? We bumped into some cool guys from the Halong Bay trip and went out for some drinks ewith them :)
We saw women do group dances at night by the lake in PJ’s, haircuts being done, dogs chilling on bikes, policemen closing down bars at midnight (we were sent home too). :p
There is just so much that we experienced here, it’s hard to summarize it all. Until then, enjoy the pictures. :)
